A short stroll from King’s Cross station, Happy Face pizza is a super cool spot. Big, airy and light, the vibe here is laid-back yet stylish. The pizzas, starting at £5, are quite frankly incredible – try the simple yet masterful Margherita for just £7.50, or try the fiery ‘Salsiccia’ with smoked mozzarella, Neapolitan sausage, friarelli and fresh chilli.
Their King’s Cross location is attached to an Everyman cinema, in case you feel like catching a film afterwards for a family day out.

2. Dishoom
Dishoom is a spot that needs no introduction. Famed for its mouth-watering Indian menu, their King’s Cross location is a great option for lunch or dinner out.
Try their small plates like their delicious spiced Lamb Samosas or order from the grill (we love their Paneer Tikka), or if you’re in a large group, try one of their ‘Feast’ sharing menus for a selection of their best dishes.

3. Café Bao
One of many Bao restaurants now in the city, King’s Cross’ Café Bao is a great choice for a low-key yet indulgent lunch.
From small-plates like Taiwanese Fried Chicken with pickles to their famous bao (try the Fish Black – battered Pollock, lemon mayo, hot sauce, NG sauce in a sesame bao), they cater the perfect lunch out. They also have a BAO Bakery Goods Counter at the entrance, so you can grab treats like their incredible Coconut Loaf on the go.

4. Hoppers
For some truly incredible Sri Lankan food, try Hoppers. With a self-described focus on ‘family-style feasting’ and a fun, airy vibe, Hoppers offer some incredible bites such as Devilled Paneer, and Dosas with masala and more.
For lunch, they have a rice and curry lunch plate loaded up a mouth-watering selection of curries, chutneys, papadam and more. A must-try spot.

5. Granary Square Brasserie
For an indulgent meal out, Granary Square Brassier nestled in the heart of King’s Cross is sure to impress. With a bright, colourful interior this spot feels like a real trip out, and makes a great spot for meals with friends and family.
The menu is classically British and incredibly tempting – simple staples like Fish & Chips or shepherd’s pie are made to perfection, and their roast and grill offerings are similarly crowd-pleasing. If you’re after a meal that feels a little fancier, try Granary Square Brasserie.

6. Casa Pastor
Casa Pastor, one of the several El Pastor locations in London, serves great food and great vibes. A bold Mexican menu is on offer, and it is absolutely lip-smacking.
We recommend the sharing plates, like the Carnitas pork with chicharron and salsa especial with fresh, unlimited tortillas; likewise, you can’t go wrong with tacos – the beer battered pollock with shredded cabbage, chipotle chilli mayo, pico de gallo and coriander are fresh, zingy and wonderfully moreish. Set in the hip Coal Drops Yard area, this is a great spot for a group meal out.

7. Beer + Burger Store
You can’t go wrong with a burger, and King’s Cross’ Beer + Burger Store serve incredible ones. Their Bacon Cheeseburger is insanely good, loaded up with candied maple bacon, and their sides, like their Mac Balls or Dirty Fries, are pleasingly simple and majorly moreish.
They also offer a cheesecake of the month, for the sweet-toothed of you out there. For a fun, low-key vibe and delicious grub, check this spot out.

8. Longboys
Ok, so not exactly a ‘meal’ out, but if you’re looking for a sweet treat to round out your lunch or dinner, then this is a must-try. Basically, their thing is airy-light brioche doughnuts in the shape of eclairs, stuffed with patisserie-inspired fillings that will be sure to impress.
The menu changes day-to-day, but our favourites have included a sophisticated Raspberry Rose Lychee flavour, a nostalgic Peanut Butter Jelly option and a temptingly sweet Tiramisu. If you can’t decide, grab a box – the more, the better!

9. Kimchee
An elegant Korean kitchen with an airy yet cosy feel, and an outdoor terrace as well, Kimchee is a wonderful option for lunch or dinner out. Their menu is superb, offering everything from fluffy steamed buns with chargrilled meats to homemade dumplings and a mouth-watering selection of rice and noodle dishes.
We recommend the Dolsot Bibimbap – sticky rice, vegetables, egg, red chilli paste and sesame oil with your choice of meat in a stone pot. They’ve even got a new Table BBQ space downstairs, for an authentic taste of Korean grill.

10. Vinotecca
An elegant wine-bar with an exciting food and drink menu, Vinotecca is a great spot for a meal with friends or family. The menu changes daily and incorporates seasonal produce, but past favourites have included small plates like Burratta with roast pumpkin,
Coppa di Parma and walnuts, and also delicious mains such as Pan-Fried Shetland Cod Fillet with Coco Beans, Charred Purple Sprouting Broccoli and Aioli if you’re feeling a little hungrier. They also offer a super brunch and a wonderful Roast on Sundays, too.
