One of Walthamstow’s finest neighbourhood food haunts, this is perfect munch for delivery via both Deliveroo and Just Eat.

With a variety of amazing dishes, catering for the meat-eater and vegetarian alike. From stir-fries to skewers, dumplings to tofu dishes, there really is something to get your nashers into for the whole family.

Once an area primarily occupied by the head down, busy commuter, Euston is now filled with no-frills, cosmopolitan places to eat and catering for the more leisurely traveller. One of our favourites here at Eat Local HQ is, Roti King, an authentic Malaysian cafe, serving up oh so delicious dishes within walking distance of the mainline station.

This little Malaysian basement setup from chef Sugen Gopal on Doric Way is a hidden gem. Our favourite menu item has to be the delicious two pieces of freshly made, high-moisture roti canai — eat in or take-away — are best served with curry dhal. That speciality costs only £4.50, and is available for takeaway.

When a food establishment in London has been around for over a decade, you KNOW it’s darn good. Delhi Grill is a stalwart on the Islington food scene, offering a quite simply delicious take on street food style bites of Delhi and Punjab.

Most dishes are marinated overnight or slow cooked, with vegan friendly dishes available. Enjoy chaats, samosas, lamb chops, and tikkas, with a selection of curries, making the Delhi Grill one of our reliable bets in N1 right now. It also serves one of the best murgh makhanis (butter chicken) in the city.

Think Nando’s, which we love, and add another level of deliciousness. And here we have Casa do Frango, serving up arguably the best chicken and chips in good ol’London town.

Lockdown has starved us of regular visits to their London Bridge restaurant for a weekly fix of peri-peri perfection, but thanks to Deliveroo, we haven’t gone wanting.

Casa do Frango has nailed the authentic flavours of Algarvian-style piri piri chicken, all served with excellent fries, and a good crunchy, green pepper, tomato, and oregano salad.

Located in the heart of Spitalfields market, John Li’s Dumpling Shack offers some of the best takeaway food available in the east end of London.

Currently using Deliveroo for getting their top notch grub out to lucky homes within distance, we implore you to order if you can.

Take your pick – pork pan fried soup dumplings, prawn wontons in chilli oil, spicy sesame paste noodles or our absolute fav, spicy beef noodles. There is also a vegan wonton offering.

You know the morning after, when you’ve had one too many beers or cracked open that second bottle of wine and you’re craving a bit of comfort food to perk you up? Welcome to the Orange Buffalo.

If there’s two things American’s do very well, it’s chicken wings and burgers. The wings are done to perfection, and sauces ranging from mild to bleedin’ hot – American classics to Korean delights, there’s a menu choice for everyone depending how much your mouth is willing to take.

Onto the burgers – which we’re in love with. A crispy breaded thigh in blue cheese dressing anyone? Mais oui, mais oui. Delightful. Or our favourite K-Town burger, smothered with an Asain sauce we want the recipe to.

If you’ve ever been lucky enough to travel around Vietnam, you’ll know that not only are the people some of the nicest on the planet, the food is something special too. We stumbled across the Pho Thuy Tay Cafe by chance and it brought back fantastic memories of yesteryear.

Thuy Nguyen’s Pho Thuy Tay is an absolte gem. The pho is the best we’ve had in London, with the pho chien trung something rarely seen in London’s Vietnamese restaurants: noodles shaped into little rosti style patties and stir fried with beef, egg and vegetables. Don’t miss the beef and mustard green rice, the raw beef salad, or the pork belly stew, replete with one perfect and still runny deep fried boiled egg. Yum.
