The perfect Sunday Roast Delivered!

The Cookout Club

London

Michelin Starred Food delivered to your doorstep

We launched The Cookout back in February 2020, after a 18 months of research and trials. From the start we wanted to make something that was just about the food.

So we stripped out the traditional “bricks and mortar” restaurant, the table-cloths, sommeliers and fancy glassware to just focus on delivering happiness by giving our customers the best dining experiences in their own homes. We wanted to “democratise” fine dining so we set ourselves a target that for less than £20 a head, Cookout’s aim would be to deliver a quality, fully cooked, hot 2-course meal, keeping costs competitive and allowing diners to enjoy Michelin-quality food in the comfort of their own home without having to get to central London, dealing with complicated booking systems, or paying for the privilege of eating in a restaurant.

There are 3 founders, Gordon Taylor, Mark Gubbins and most notably Philip Britten, Philip – an acclaimed chef who has worked in some of the UK’s most notable restaurants including Chez Nico and The Capital (where he received a Michelin Star in each, ‘Chef of the Year’ gong and countless other accolades). So we wanted to do something that’s never been done before – bring his years of classic cooking experience into the modern world of on-demand home dining, knowing that value for money, taste and exciting dishes are of paramount importance, wherever you’re dining.

Philip and senior chef Victor Lamauve, who himself has worked in many notable restaurants in London, Barcelona and Ibiza including the Michelin starred Spanish restaurant Sabor in London do the cooking every single day in the kitchen. We source all our own ingredients, like the Highland Beef, Cote de Beouf using Philips 40yrs of experience and contacts to make sure we do the hard work so our customers can rely on provenance and quality every time. We don’t buy anything in ready-prepared and we don’t cook for anyone else – we just focus on producing good food at everyday prices delivered hot to your door.

No one could have foreseen the terrible impact that coronavirus would have on every-day life. It’s made launching a start-up tough and our thoughts are very much with all in the food and beverage industry and we really hope restaurants and bars are open again soon. We have responded by making contactless delivery available to customers and by hiring our own delivery team led by Pierro and Ben. This way we can control all aspects of the food journey from field/sea to customers plate safely.

We are super excited the way it’s gone so far, most importantly we have been very fortunate and grateful for all positive feedback and encouragement from our regular customers. Largely because of Philip and because it’s a new concept we have got some great press attention – The Times, “Anyone for Posh Deliveroo”, Hot-Dinners “one of the best Sunday roast deliveries in London”, BBCR4 “You and Yours” programme, The Guardian and Absolutely London “One of the best luxury dinner services in London” but we know that what really matters is delivering happiness through great food every single time to our lovely customers.
